RAF rustic wall mounted bottle opener

Description

These rustic wall mounted bottle openers are designed to suit both an indoor and outdoor setting. The opener itself is made from cast iron, the hook is steel and the bucket cap bin is tin. 

All are spray painted the same RAF blue colour.

The pine is finished with Dark Oak Danish oil, and has two keyhole hangers on the back for easy hidden screw mounting.

Comes with the classic novelty Winston Churchill WW2 poster 'Never was so much owed by so many to so few'.

History

Although the poster, with its famous quotation of Winston Churchill, was a tribute to the fighter pilots of the Battle of Britain, the airmen featured actually belonged to a bomber crew. The pilots were, from left to right, Sgt 'Dinty' Moore, Sgt Peter Elliot, Sgt Rawles, Sgt Harold Stone (DFM) and Sgt James Craig. However, by picturing these sergeant-pilots, as opposed to commissioned officers, the message of the poster was clear; the victory of 1940 was one won through the efforts and sacrifices of the Royal Air Force as a whole.
